Coaches

We offer coaching from an Ireland international level 4 coach for the Men’s 1s and 2s, a level 3 and NHL coach for the Ladies’ 1s, plus a pool of level 1 and 2 coaches.

Our coaches have use of a Veo sports camera (used by Real Madrid and other sports teams) and we will be joining England’s hockey bespoke coaching programme.

The Ladies’ 1s players will also assist with the Ladies’ 4s and 5s training.

Sunday Academy - these sessions are coordinated by our experienced coaching team.

Player Pathway

It is our aim that all players can play at the highest level of their ability and wherever possible all players will be given that opportunity. Club Captains will seek to attend both senior and Academy training sessions to help facilitate this.

Senior Players

Players showing exceptional talent in their own team will be invited to additional training with the Ladies’ 1 for a 4-to-6-week period. We believe this should help player development and make transition between teams easier.

All Ladies captains will be able to recommend based on their performance and training attendance.

The men’s training has been structured to allow for the early identification of talented players.

Saints Academy

We have a strong Academy section where children can access coaching from EHB qualified coaches. We typically enter the England National U14/U16 competitions, as well as local and regional tournaments from U8s upwards.

The Academy provides a route for players to progress to our senior teams. We are careful to ensure that players settle into adult hockey amongst their friends and peers.

England Hockey Player Pathway

The England Hockey player pathway provides an opportunity for Academy players, age 12-16, to be nominated for the Cambridgeshire Development Centres. Players take part in a range of training sessions to develop their skills.
