Match Report |
Two teams with a mix of young and more experienced players fought out a pretty even game at Spalding. Chris Turner, the Saints' goalie, made more saves than his oppostion number and was voted man of the match (again), but everyone contributed to the result. St Neots were more lethal from their short corners and Anthony Holmes struck home in each half to get the points, after accurate ejections from Geoff Watts on each occasion. Solid umpiring allowed the game to flow; the umpires should be congratulated for their performances too. Good pressing from Saints put constant pressure on the home side and the Saints' defence was ably marshalled by Rob Hoye. A great performance all round!
