Facing a home team squad of 16 young,(20 year olds) fit players Saints were always going to face a hard game despite the defensive skills of Chris Turner in goal and Rob Hoye and Ant Holmes in defence. The first quarter of an hour saw St Neots working hard and holding the skilful home side at bay, but by half time St Neots were 6-0 down. Despite this, a dogged and stubborn resistance kept the score down and Saints only succumbed to one more home goal from the Cambridge University side which stands a strong chance of being eventual league winners given their strength in depth and attacking options. Man of the match was Will Clarke in attack.
