Match Report |
Another week of difficulties to field four full teams, let alone providing squads for subs. The 4s played with 10 in the end thanks to Sami Farrer and Jonathan Percival who both doubled-up (even though it was JP's birthday)! Ely had a squad of 14 and that rotation did make life difficult for St Neots. Four goals were scored against in the first half despite another great performance from goalie Chris Turner. The scoreline did not fully reflect the game; St Neots worked hard throughout but were unable to capitalise on their chances and a number of short corners, often earned by Ian Cunningham with his silky skills. Again, the developing skills of the new younger players to the team gives cause for optimism, especially for next season.
