Match Report | A tough game with some unfortunate but undeniably fantastic goals from the opposition. Goalkeeper Tara Bell fought hard with her circle of defence to stop many attempts on goal, but St Ives clearly knew how to take advantage of a blind spot!
Positively, St Neots Women’s 3’s fought hard and remained resilient throughout; a youthful team full of long legs and strong lungs who remained unfazed by the scoring of the opposition.
A mention to Andrea Pybus and Millie Mear, the joint players of the match, who worked tirelessly up the right side to push the play into the attacking zone, and with success on many occasions.
It’s safe to say that every forward had possession of the ball in the attacking third, with many opportunities at scoring a goal that were either shut down or missed.
This includes the one-on-one during the second half that Kirsty Clarke had with the goalkeeper, resulting in a collision and her shot going wide. Perhaps had she not been thrust to the floor, her shot would have made it into the goal! |
