Womens 4 Vs Wisbech Town Ladies 3

First league game of the season and we had some of our key L4's squad missing so welcomed Lucy, Fi, Cerys, Iris stepping up and Amy Harley for doubling up in goal.

The first 5 minutes looked ropey as we had to find our formation and stride, we soon got into the nmatch and began to dominate Wisbech. After 3 minutes we had a shot on gola but it was unfortunatley saved but gave the team the bleief they needed.Not long after this we were awarded a short corner but failed to convert it into a goal, however we were awarded another short corner shortly afterwards where Fi stopped the ball at the top of the D and slipped to Cerys who slipped it behind the goalie. We continued to have other opportunities up to the half time whistle but we didn't manage to get the goals we deserved, Chris had a couple of shots saved by the keeper.

The second half Wisbech came out strong, we had to make some changes to the team due to injury and the opposition took full opportunity and scored a goal within the first minute. We continued to be on the back foot, we eventually made  a break with Chris having a 1 on 1 wiht the keeper but it didn't go in our favour. Wisbech continued to dominate most of the second half but we had another break and after some scrappy play in the D, Fi managed to slip a ball behind the keeper from the far post to take the score to 2-1. We then ensured we played defensively to keep Wisbech from scoring up until the end whistle. A great win and start to the season, every played their socks off and thank you to Tanya and Kate for umpiring.
