Match Report | Bedford 3s 3-0 St Neots 1s Saints and bedford contested their annual preseason fixture on Saturday, however this time round it was a lot more competitive than years gone passed. Having lost 8-1 and 6-0 on the previous two meetings Saints arrived with some new faces and a new system and looked to imprint this on the game. Both sides started strongly, chances coming at either end, and just before half time the pressure told as Bedford were awarded a Penalty Flick, which was duly converted for a 1-0 lead at the break. Bedford came out firing in the second half and pinned Saints back, a series of saves by new Men’s Captain Ben Seaber kept them in the game, but once again the pressure told and Bedford doubled their lead before a controversial third just before the end. Overall though, Saints look to the season proper with high hopes, fresh faces and plenty of talent starting to show |
