A fantastic start to the season with an emphatic win against Welwyn away at Hatfield University pitch. The sun shone brightly on our youngsters as they took control of the game from the first whistle. Deciding to play 4x15 minutes to allow an introduction to the youngsters to a full sided game, they took it in their stride. Aoife Stokes scored early on and from then there’s was no looking back. Ruby Lane scored a hat trick and Aoife scored a total of 4 with veteran captain Fiona Humphrey slotting one home from a massive strike at a short corner. Everyone contributed to the goals with assists coming from all players. The team gelled so much that the last quarter was played without the experienced players and saints fielded an U15 side. Man of the match was shared between busy Ruby Lane and new to hockey Poppy Presland. Everyone enjoyed their afternoon in the sun. Roll on next week.
