Womens 1 Vs North Norfolk 1

After last weeks impressive performance, this week the start was much slower and less cohesive. 

Too much of the first half passed before the girls got into their stride and found themselves 1-0 down at halftime time to a goal conceded early in the game. The visitors scored after opportunities to clear the ball from the D were squandered as the ball came in from the right. Indeed the visitors right forward caused havoc for much of the afternoon, with Amy Harley making some vital saves to keep us in touch. 

After the break there was more intensity from the girls and the Saints were soon back on level terms after Tanya Sergeant cooly slotted home a penalty flick after an infringement denied us a clear goalscoring opportunity. 

The obvious relief was short lived as another move from the right ended with a back post tap in for the visitors, so the Saints were down again. 

As the game went on, the Saints showed plenty of resolve and finally got rewarded with a flurry of penalty corners. The third, duly despatched by Eleanor Pybus with a clean firm hit from the top of the D after an accurate injection from Kirsty McKenzie.
