A fantastic start to the season for Saints ladies 2s as they start their campaign in Division 1 after promotion last season. Today kicked off the season with Saints taking on Bedford away, a strong team who also saw promotion last season. Saints were quick off the mark, not showing any start-of-season nerves and Sue Glover soon put Saints on the scoresheet. In the second half, Saints continued to grow in confidence and continued to press on Bedford's experienced defence, with lots of pace and some impressive passing on show. Sue Glover then put a second goal away for Saints with assistance from Chloe Cundick. Bedford did respond with a goal but Saints did not allow this to affect their focus and continued to press on, resulting in a well-deserved 2-1 win for Saints. Player of the match went to Lorna Marshall for a tireless and solid performance.
