Despite some notable defending, especially from Phil Sargeant and man-of-the-match, goalie Tim Poole , who was in outstanding form, Saints went down at home to an attack-minded team. Although only 1-0 down at half time, St Neots were often on the back foot and unable to seriously threaten the Cambridge goal. The home side do deserve praise for determination and effort and not just from the younger players but more mature team members such as James Hopperton and Chris Bates. The final score of 3-0 was probably a fair reflection of the game.
