Match Report |
Another Saturday when Saints struggled to field four teams with any subs, not helped by what seemed to be a general disinclination to travel and a number of players carrying injuries despite the Christmas break. St Neots 3s, bottom of the league, travelled 93 miles to play high-scoring top of the table Louth 1s with just eleven players. True to form, Saints let in two early goals from open play but maintained their defence until pole-axed by a hamstring injury to Mark Harrison who was forced off. Despite this they managed to score when Oli Dawes got to the by-line to square the ball for Kev Sequenza to tap home. 3-1 at half time gave Saints some hope but the much younger opposition who were very quick and snappy with their passing began to pressure much more in the second half where again Tim Poole earned MoM status again this season with a number of fine saves. Whilst final score of 7-1 was disappointing, Saints can be proud of their overall efforts.
