Match Report |
Featuring six different players from their last game the thirds had to re-adapt yet again with just eleven players. Leadenham 2s also had eleven, although a slightly younger team! The away side did not have things all their own way and Saints competed hard all over the pitch but Leadenham tended to have a more incisive and aggressive attack leading to a 0-2 half time score, both goals coming from open play. Defensive determination from the home side kept the score low and man of the match, Paul Stubbs showed particular skill in keeping the opposition at bay. Ultimately, Leadenham were able to capitalise on their opportunities whereas the home side, despite shots on goal and a couple of shorts, were not. Effort could not be faulted and the game was played in a most competitive manner.
