With just the bare eleven, St Neots did not disgrace themselves against a younger, fitter and well-organised Bourne-Deeping team in this Div 5 game. Early goals by the home side did not help despite the best efforts of a defence hampered by the absence of regular players. Phil Sargeant was particulary impressive and the heroics of stand-in goalkeeper Chris Smith were enough to earn him man of the match. 3-0 at half time probably reflected the nimber of chances but Danny Stevenson and Kevin Sequenza were able to provide moments of concern for the home side. Indeed Sequenza tapped home a goal early in the second half but a revival was not on the cards! Constant athleticism from Rob Hoye and a good all-round team effort were not enough to compete with the home side.
