Mens 2 Vs Leadenham 2 

St Neots started the stronger side, putting the visitors under pressure from the first whistle. St Neots won a short corner early on but was closed down quickly and Leadenham Broke quickly, hitting the ball down the right side to a lone striker up front who was allowed to run free, and against the run of play slotted past Simon to put the visitors up 0-1. 

St Neots rallied and continued to pile the pressure on Leadenham, and was rewarded when Captain Gary Leyshon won another short corner. Pushed out to Chris Slatcher who pushed through to Gary Leyshon who had a shot on target saved, the ball fell to Charlie Evans who hit a low hard shot and evened the score line 1-1. St Neots continued to defend well with Chris Slatcher and Mark Lincoln controlling the play from the back, Leadenham were finding it difficult to break through. Not long before the end of the first half, Charlie Evans completed a brilliant run down the left wing, driving into the D and winning a short corner, which was hit home from Chris Slatcher to put St Neots up 2-1 going into the half.

The Second half started much the same, St Neots pushing up strong and at times committing too many players forward which enabled Leadenham to break from time to time but was comfortably dealt with. With the continued pressure and high intensity play, St Neots were awarded with a Penalty Flick after Leadenham stopped a shot on the goal line with their foot, this was dispatched with ease from Philip Gentles who sends the keeper the wrong way, making the game 3-1. 

Alex Bird also had his debut for the Mens 2s and did very well, a great prospect for the club, and the Man of the Match was awarded to Charlie Evans, but overall everyone had a great game.
