Mens 2 Vs Spalding 4

St Neots started the game strongly, holding most of the possession and having the first few opportunites on goal with some nice passing through the team. The first goal dispatched by the Captain Gary Leyshon, Spalding grabbed an equaliser after a mistake from Chris Slatcher. It was a very even 1st half.

Second half, Spalding come out strong and they managed to break away after a St Neots short and score to make it 2-1. St Neots replied quickly, Chris Slatcher hitting it upfield to Gary Leyshon, who held the ball up and then passed down the right wing to Willem Zwetsloot and drove up the line and into the Spalding D and hit across to find Daniel Stevenson who slotted away with ease to make it 2-2. Shortly after, 3 players from the St Neots side went down injured, Daniel Stevenson was unable to move up front which enabled Spalding to push up the field and swamp the injured St Neots, they managed to score 2 goals and we were unable to offer any real threat.

Was a great game, both sides very much enjoyed the encounter and it was played in the best of spirits. Some bits to work on but overall a lot of positives to take from the match.
