Mens 2 Vs St Neots 3

St Neots 2s started the game of strong, looking for early goals, the 3s worked incredibly hard, and were well organised, and with their experienced back line were able to hold off most of the attacking play, a break away from midfield however for the 2s saw the ball played to Philip Gentles who hit home for the 2s first goal, was a really well worked goal, the assist coming from the captain Gary Leyshon. The second goal came quickly after, Charlie Evans hit on target hit the defenders foot and a flick was granted, this was expertly taken by Philip Gentles into the top left, leaving the keeper well beaten. The 3s still continued to push forward and had a couple of Short corners, but the 2s defence were able to hold both of these off and the half finished a fair 0-2.

The second half was started by the 2s and they were quickly pressing the play, the thrid gaol coming from a cross goal pass to Jack Percival who finsihed easily into an open goal. The 3s continued to work hard and got the ball to Kevin Sequenza who hit home from long range to make the game 1-3, they were not giving up! They continued to push up the field, however this left them exposed in Midfield and Defence, and the 2s capatilsed on this and scored 2 more goals from open play, fourth coming from a long hit up field by Chris Slatcher to Rob Hoye who turned and hit a wonderful goal to the top left. The fifth came from Gary Leyshon who held the ball up on top of the D, and pushed through to Willem Zwetsloot to slot home and put the game to bed.
