Mens 2 Vs March Town 2

A low sun cast its glare along the pitch straight into the eyes of the Saints team who , although winning the toss , had chosen to take the push back. March started brightly taking the advantage of the sun and put Saints defence under pressure but ably marshalled by JP & Slatch the first wave was pushed back.

Saints worked the ball to the right through mid-field dynamo Mark Lincoln to Dan Tonkin who pushed forward to work the ball to Will Zwetloos who made an easy finish for Phil Gentles , 1-0!

Saints continued to push and this time from the left Phil released the ball to allow Danny Stevenson to finish and Saints went into the break 2 up!

This time with the flattening sun behind them Saints started the second half but March refreshed by their substitutes pushed and Saints unfortunately had no answer. March pressure resulted in a goal from open play.

The last 10 minutes saw a siege of the Saints’ half and after a series of short corners March managed to get a second and ultimately their equaliser!

All in all probably a fair result but a valuable away point for Saints!
