Ultimately a disappointing draw for Saints - who put in a decent performance, dominating the game for long periods, but they couldn`t finish off a resilient Lowestoft side. Saints started much the better side, pushing forward with intent. There were few clear opportunities from open play, but the penalty corner count began to rise, with the visiting `keeper enjoying a strong game. The pressure told in the end, Captain Paula Bingham giving Saints the lead shortly before half-time - converting from close range at a penalty corner.

The second half was a more even contest, as Lowestoft gained a foothold in the game - troubling Saints with pacey attacks and beginning to win penalty corners of their own. They equalised from one of these with a strong strike from the edge of the circle. Saints responded well, reasserting themselves on the game, pushing forward until the final whistle. Georgia Grant came closest to winning it for Saints, rounding the keeper well, but her reverse stick shot went agonisingly past the far post.

Saints now face two away games before the Xmas break – next week they travel to Sudbury - aiming to put together a good, consistent run of performances and results.
