| Match Report | Our new 11-a-side team went to Peterboro to play their 1st 11-a-side competitive game at Tier 2 level with a strong squad of 16 players. For the first 20 minutes or more, the team interlinked well in a 2-3-5 shape working the ball out under good pressure from a skilled Peterboro side. The team were compact and hard to break down, to their credit. Peterboro committed numbers to their attack late in the half and found themselves 1 on 1 with keeper Kai more than once however, and at the break we were 4-1 down (our goal coming from Sam Evans). The second half saw more player changes after a few injuries, and we shipped 2 further goals during this time, but this belied the increasingly strong attacking play and more accurate passing from Saints which lead to multiple short corners, but not quite the goal we sought. Both sides played with good humour and it was a good first showing from the Saints side. Short corner and shooting practice next Sunday, followed by our next game at home on 19th November. Tim |
