Saints started strongly,attacking the Welwyn goal from the first whistle. Their defence and keeper kept them in the game and in a breakaway strike, managed to score past to go ahead against the run of play. Saints continued to persevere and were rewarded when a fantastic run from the back and cross by Issy Woolley,was struck home by Jenny Coleman. In the second half, saints kept up the pressure and only the Welwyn goalie kept them from being overrun. Despite not receiving many decisions at all, Kira Herbert converted a cross from a determined Summer Payne to put the visitors in the lead. Saints gk Helen Rolland did not touch the ball in the second half. New player Sophie Waugh made a great contribution on her debut match.The league leaders continue their winning streak. Next week a home game against Saffron Walden.
