Despite starting well and attacking the Broxbourne goal with gusto, one slip up allowed a determined opposition to slap home an early goal. It took a while to settle but eventually Summer Payne powered her way through and finished off a good run with a clean goal. There was no stopping the team as Amy Wilkinson followed up with a strong hit at goal. Goals galore continued with one from Jess Homans and another from Summer. Into the break 4-1 up and Saints smelt goal blood. Despite saints having most of the play, Broxbourne worked hard to trouble the defence but Holly Fraser mopped up everything coming. Ros Twemlow despite feeling poorly continued to fire out rocket hits from the defence and Issy Woolley combined well up the right hand side to get the ball into the opposition circle. Another strong run from Summer saw her claim her hat trick and Jess followed up with her second to complete a great return to hockey for the league leaders after a long winter break.
