A challenging game as captain/manager stepped into umpire to help the opposition who's second umpire failed to materialise. This left the team without a substitute and difficult to manage. The team started sprightly with an early goal from Kira Herbert. This was neutralised when a cross by Rickmansworth was not cleared by the defence. Soon after, Kira was unlucky not to have scored again as her strike hit the post and bounced out of play. Good work between the forwards led to Sophie Faulkner scoring and saints went into the break 2-1 up. After half time, saints defence came under attack and poor marking allowed the opposition to pass around the circle and eventually a weak ball crossed the line. Half time through the second half, a substitute umpire allowed Fiona Humphrey to manage from the side to encourage more linked play. Summer Payne worked her socks off in attack and defence, and her diligence was rewarded with the winning goal a few minutes before the end. Man of match went to Ros Lloyd as a stalwart defender. Emma Rowe was a constant encourager throughout the game. Well done everyone-3 points and still top of the league.
