Match Report

A tough game where all the players had to work hard in order to achieve the desired outcome. Potters Bar had a strong defence so the young saints forwards needed all their speed and strength to penetrate the circle. Despite constant pressure, the break came when Ros Lloyd gave a fantastic pass directly to Summer Payne at right wing who took it the rest of the way down the pitch, and sliced it into the near corner of the goal. After half time, saints dominated the Potters Bar half but were unable to capitalise on this until a few minutes from the end. A solid performance from saints defence, stopped any attack from the opposition who did not even gain a penalty corner the whole game. An inspired position change near the end of the game had Summer in centre forward position make the most of a cross from the right and she waltzed into the circle and hammered a shot past the goalkeeper. She was awarded team man of the match but highly commended was Holly Fraser for her unceasing efforts in both attack and defence.
