Match Report | Sadly we were missing our 11th player for this game, which encouraged our opponents to attack us aggressively, testing a number of our players who had stepped into unfamiliar positions on the day. It took a while, but when the dam broke some good play and one touch passing from Nomads gave them not just the lead, but a 5-0 scoreline at half time. Thanks to our first-time stand-in keeper, the score was not even higher. The half time team talk must have worked however, as a tactical change and great efforts from the whole team made our erstwhile confident opponents increasingly frustrated as we chased down every pass and managed to keep the ball for longer and longer periods, eventually securing a couple of short corners. It looked like the second half would go down 0-0, until a single lucky rolling ball following a mellee, made it softly into our goal. In all a six-nil loss, but our ten man performance was lauded by both sides and bodes well for future games ahead. Thanks everyone. |
