Match Report |
Again with a bare eleven players the fourth team showed great spirit against a normally high-scoring Kettering team who often looked dangerous. Sustaining their composure Saints succumbed to a breakaway goal that caught them napping but were only one down at half time. Young Dan Tonkin, elevated from the 5th team was deemed player of the match for the home side giving a thoroughly solid performance at right back and never looked out of place. Despite a better than usual team performance Saints still leaked three goals in the second half but at least managed more pressure than usual in the final third, often through the efforts of Duncan Talbot, their most creative of players.Despite the result, the home team's efforts could not be faulted.
