Match Report |
Inter-club games are always difficult, especially when you only have the bare eleven (for the 8th time this season)! The game was pretty even, particularly in the first half and theĀ fours' defence, very different from usual, was easily up to the task. Oliver Colbert had a very good game and was designated team man of the match. The attacking force of the thirds was often blunted, Anthony Nethercott making a sterling effort to keep Danny Rowland's usual incisiveness to a minimum. It wasn't until the second half that the thirds managed to stay in longer patches in the opposition half but even their half a dozen or so shorts brought liitle success. It certainly looked as if the fourth team were going to gain a deserved draw until an unfortunate melee ended up with the ball creeping across the goal line very near the end of the game.
