Match Report |
A combative first half saw the home side take the lead through Mark Harrison which was cancelled out before half time. But the second half saw them miss a PF and defend deeply for most of the half. Perhaps the spirit of Christmas was prevalent; too many poor passes, too much losing shape and position and too much wasteful dribbling. Man of the match for St Neots had to be newcomer Tom Hoyle in goal, who had not played for years: his positional sense and natural ability often kept out the St Ives attacks! Despite only having ten players, St Ives were able to capitalise on the older Saints team who could really do with some younger legs, especially in midfield.
