Match Report |
After conceding an early goal Saints looked as if they might be on to a hiding to nothing from a strong Wellingborough team who were only just demoted last season. But Saints fought back and generally defended well, Tim Poole playing his normal effective game in goal and Tim Wood having a incredibly solid game in central defence. Mark Harrison, a great utility player, scored the equaliser but 2-1 down at half time. Alex Stubbs proved to be the master of short corners and Saints were up 3-2 in the second half but suffering a couple of injuries they allowed Wellingborough to draw level and dogged determination for the last twentyminutes gave them a well-deserved point.
