Match Report | The first away trip of the season saw M1 travel to Cambridge to play against Cambridge City Vets, having been competitive through most of last season Saints were prepared for a stern test.
Early nerves were settled through a well taken deflection by Danny Stevenson. City responded and eventually were rewarded with a Penalty Corner. A double save later and Saints were back in control. Goals quickly followed for Rob Mitchell and Brett Nunn. A handy 3-0 lead at the break.
A dominant second half performance failed to yield any more goals, but as City were given very few chances and a well earned away victory kept Saints at the top of the table at this early stage in the season.
Bradley Forsdick took home the man of the match award. The striker providing the assists for each of the goals scored. |
