Covid Guidelines

ST NEOTS HOCKEY CLUB GUIDELINES

Updated 23 June 2021

England Hockey have updated their guidelines following recent lifting of Covid-19 restrictions.

Full details of our Covid Guidelines for adults and junior players are below.  Please ensure your name and phone number are up to date in the members area of the SNHC website. Familiarise yourself with the guidelines for taking part.

If you have any questions about these guidelines, please contact SNHC’s Covid Officer, Emma Southern, on snhc.covid@gmail.com

BEFORE EVERY training session or match

  • Self-assess for symptoms of COVID-19:
    • You must not attend any session, as a player or spectator, if you have any of the following symptoms:
      • A high temperature / you feel hot to touch on the neck or back (above 37.8C)
      • A new, continuous cough
      • Loss of, or change to, normal sense of taste or smell
    • Also, please do not attend if you are feeling generally unwell, or if you have been in close contact with / living with someone with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 in the previous 2 weeks.
  • Using your own equipment (stick, gloves, water bottle etc) is recommended, rather than sharing.
  • You are not obliged to wear a face covering, but may feel you want to before/after the session, for travelling, using facilities etc.
  • Use your own judgement to manage risk when planning your travel to a session (see current Government guidelines )

DURING a training session or match

  • Different venues may have different safety measures in place. Please follow the specific guidelines at each venue
  • We strongly discourage spitting, excessive shouting (especially in face-to-face situations) and swilling out your mouth / spitting out water.
  • Please use your judgement to manage your own risk, and respect the welfare and choices of others at all times.

IF YOU BECOME UNWELL

If you feel at all unwell during a session, inform the session leader immediately.

  • If you have returned to play and you test positive for COVID-19 at any time, you must inform St Neots Hockey Club’s Covid Officer Emma Southern immediately on snhc.covid@gmail.com
  • You must also contact NHS Test and Trace.

The Club will get in touch with everyone who has attended the same session(s) as you, to make them aware. They will not need to self-isolate unless contacted by NHS Test and Trace.

Participant health and safety is of utmost importance: first aid will be available for injuries.  Attendees should avoid crowding around an injured player; let the session leader deal with incident appropriately and only assist if you are a family member / share a household with the injured player, you are asked to assist or if emergency care is needed.

JUNIORS

  • Guidelines for Juniors are the same as for adult players.

SPECTATORS / PARENTS & GUARDIANS

  • Spectators are permitted within and outside the fenced pitch area, and should respect the welfare and choices of others at all times.
  • Attending parents/guardians of Juniors aged 10 or under are asked to remain on-site during matches, limited to one parent/guardian per child where possible.
